Lab Scrap FAQ

Below are common questions and answers about disposing of laboratory instruments
using Lab Scrap’s bulk pickup services, based on information from Lab Scrap’s Bulk
instrument Pickup page.

What is Lab Scrap’s bulk trash pickup service, and can it be used for laboratory instruments?

Lab Scrap offers bulk trash pickup for heavy or bulky items that don’t fit in regular trash containers. For laboratory instruments, eligibility depends on your location and the type of instrument. Check your eligibility by requesting a quote on Lab Scrap’s website or contacting Lab Scrap support.

Visit Lab Scrap’s Bulk Pickup page and request a quote for scheduling a pickup.

Acceptable items generally include large analyzers (if non-hazardous). However, instruments containing hazardous materials (e.g., mercury, radioactive components, or chemical residues) are typically accepted. Always confirm with Lab Scrap, as unacceptable items include medical instruments with hazardous waste. These will have to be cleaned and decontaminated before pick up.
